Monday Curbside Pickup

BEGINS: MAY 3, 2010 to MID FALL (to be determined)

Compost will be picked up on Monday mornings - please place your cans & bags near the road before 8:00am Monday morning or late Sunday night. During weeks with a legal Hoilday pick-up will be Tuesday.

Use only Kraft Paper Bags with weight under 50 pounds.

Trash Cans 32 gallons or smaller affixed with compost sticker available at Tawas City Hall for $5.00.

Brush 4 ft. long (bundled) weighing less than 50 pounds.

Place Bags/Brush on homeowner side of road on Sunday after 6 p.m. or before 7 a.m. Monday morning.

No Full Trees/Tree Stumps/Full Bushes.

No Building Construction Debris/Sod/Garbage.

Plastic Bags will not be picked up.

No animal waste allowed.

Compost Key is available at City Hall for your convenience. A ten ($10) dollar deposit will be REQUIRED and REFUNDED if the key is returned within a 1 ½ hour period.

THIS SERVICE IS FOR RESIDENTIAL YARD MAINTENANCE ONLY.

Curbside brush and compost failing to comply with the above requirements will not be picked up.

BURNING PERMITS

The City of Tawas City does not issue burn permits.

Residents may call 1-866-922-2876 to obtain a burn permit

TRASH PICK-UP

Waste Management is contracted by Tawas City for trash pick-up.

Trash pick-up is Friday morning. During weeks with a Legal Hoilday trash pickup will be on Saturday.

One (1) bulky item will be accepted with your weekly trash pick-up. Examples: furniture: appliances (freon must be drained and item tagged): carpet (must be rolled and rolls no longer longer than (4) feet. Any loose materials must be bundled or boxed (under 50 pounds). (Prohibited items include: Liquid waste, paint, tires and auto parts and building materials.) Any question?
